WSCRC is pleased to announce the launch of the WSCRC Policy Briefing Series (PBS) – a series of curated conversations assessing key issues in US-China trade and security relations. Held on a regular basis throughout the year, stomach these sessions will assemble national experts for an in-depth and interactive engagement.
You are invited to attend the inaugural session of the WSCRC Policy Briefing Series on “US National Security Law: Impact on US-China Technology Export Restrictions”. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross’s March 7, 2017 announcement of a $1.9 million penalty against ZTE’s exports to Iran and North Korea spotlights the growing interlinkages between national security and technology transfers. As China’s technology industry expands its global reach, concerns over Chinese tech companies’ transactions with countries that pose a risk to US national security interests magnify the expanding role of CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States). With leading global technology companies located in WA state, this panel will engage leading legal and commercial experts to discuss key policy challenges and opportunities for US-China-WA relations.
