About the Speaker:
Phillip Yin is an experienced strategist, portfolio manager and global journalist. Yin works with Newsroom Investments, advising companies as they navigate the complexities of US-China relations. Phillip has covered extensively both Chinese and US politics and covered major business events over the past decade including the Financial Crisis, US-China trade disputes, and the North Korean conflict. He’s hosted and covered events with the IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the OECD to help bring clarity to the most pressing issues facing America and the global community. Phillip was the Launch Anchor for CGTN America, the most watched Chinese/Asian broadcast network, and has also anchored for premier American business news networks CNBC Television and Bloomberg News. Yin’s nearly 5,000 interviews have included Washington Governor Jay Inslee, US Transportation Secretary and former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde, and legendary tennis champion Roger Federer.
WSCRC Policy Briefing Series, launched in 2017, provides a venue for WSCRC members and the wider public to deepen their understanding of US-China policies by hearing directly from speakers who are highly skilled in their respective fields, thus creating a platform for dialogue on key issues in US-China trade and investment relations. PBS speakers have included policy advisors, investment consultants, and academics, to name a few.
